The Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) has successfully concluded the 2024 Money Month Lesotho Campaign in Maseru. This is a nationwide financial literacy aimed at empowering Basotho to make informed financial decisions. When opening the ceremony, Mr. Lehlomela Mohapi, the First Deputy Governor, mentioned that people should approach their relationship with money with care.

He stated that as a bank, they now have market conduct and consumer protection. However, Mr. Ephriam Moremoholo, Financial Education Steering Committee (FFSC) stated that the theme of the campaign this year was protect your money, secure your future.This theme emphasizes the importance of adopting a responsible and informed approach towards managing our finances effectively.Mr. Moremoholo indicated that when we talk about protection of our money, we look into the risk associated with money.

He indicated that the objectives of the event are that we always go to the public to sensitize them about the available products and services within the financial sector.  That is the key message we want to communicate because we may have the financial services and products, but do they really address the issues, people reaching out, addressing the real Mr. Moremoholo mentioned the reason they take a week to go to a district and still take a month to try and reach out to almost everyone we can to teach them about our products.
