At least 43 learners from two primary schools and one high school received school shoes donated by one of the Community Councillors within the Urban Council in the district on Wednesday.
Speaking during the presentation of shoes, Mr. Tuoane Mporo who initiated to buy some of the learners the shoes said he was touched and decided to give to needy learners after realising that their shoes were not in good condition.He urged them to concentrate on their studies and become givers and responsible citizens of the country in future as well.
Learners who received the shoes said they are thankful for the gesture of love and care demonstrated to them.One of the Resource Teachers Mr. Teboho Mahemu from Department of Educationappreciated the support extended to children and commended Mr. Mporo for his contribution to the learners. At the event, the Mokhotlong District Administrator Mr. Kepa Keqe presented the shoes to the learners and requested God to bless the hand that has given. Recipients were selected from Seeiso High School, St. Peters and Mokhotlong LEC Primary Schools.
