Shalane and Qaqatu Chief, donated school shoes to the less privileged learners. This initiative is termed "giving back to the community"

Chief Hlomelang Teane indicated that this noble initiative started last year and he was encouraged and motivated by his wife who sewed school uniforms for children who had none.

He said he came up with the idea of donating ten pairs of school shoes to the learners who had no shoes to wear when going to school from Shalane and Seliane Primary schools.

The latter pointed out that the selection criteria for the beneficiaries was through a means of ruffle and only ten learners were picked out to be given new shoes.

He indicated that he works together with his Ward Councillors for beneficiary selection purposes indicating that he will extend his giving hand to other schools such as Tlaling Primary and Phiring Primary in the Tlaling area.
