Thaba Tseka ____ Mashai primary school has been using the church hall for the past 14 years as the classroom.
This was said by the Principal of the above mentioned school Mr Tlukutlane Makara in an interview with the Agency on Wednesday.
Mr. Makara explained that the reception classes began in 2010 and parents have been contributing but have not collected enough funds to build the classroom.
He said when they have church services during the week, children do not attend classes and therefore appealed to the people of good will to assist.
He said currently, they have bought about 100 bricks and sand but they still need more sand, bricks, cement and roofing materials.
Mr. Makara added that they also do not have enough toilets for young learners as they have only four for learners in grade six and seven.
He said they have sent requests for assistance to the business community but no avail.
The principal further talked about water scarcity which he said at times they ask learners to bring water from home.
"We do not have levelled playgrounds and our learners are forced to travel about an hour to the ground," he said.
He said that puts strain on learners as they have to travel long back home after practice.
The school has a roll of 318, with eight teachers.
