Members of Parliament have raised a concern over the misuse of number plates meant for them and Ministers.
This after Likotsi MP Ms. Itumeleng Rants’o stood on point of order saying they are faced with a challenge of traffic Police officer enquiring about ownership of vehicles bearing the MP number plates.
Responding on this matter, the Speaker of the National Assembly, honourable Tlohang Sekhamane clarified that all MPs including Ministers vehicles must have special number plates printed in green and red colours respectively.
He added that nobody is allowed to drive the Minister’s vehicle bearing a green MP number plate when the owner is not in such vehicle, emphasising the need to discuss this matter with the Cabinet.
Meanwhile the House was adjourned earlier than usual time as the microphones were not working.
