The Ministry of Natural Resources in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training have signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) for training, testing and certification of artisan and masonry skills for the Botha-Bothe and Leribe communities under the Lesotho Lowlands Water Development and Sanitation Project (LLWDSP) in Maseru on Wednesday.

In her remarks upon this signing, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources Ms. Relebohile Lebeta said that this signing between the two ministries marks a significant milestone in collective efforts towards the empowerment of communities through skills development particularly in artisan and masonry trades.

She indicated that the ministry of education and training is responsible for setting standards and certifying vocational skills in Lesotho therefore their involvement will ensure that the training and testing of masonry and artisan skills are officially recognized and participants receive accredited certification upon completion.

Ms. Lebeta mentioned that through this partnership, they aim to provide Basotho with recognition they deserve for their skills and the hard work through certification which will enhance the value and skills acquired by the trainees and improve their employability and livelihoods.
