Hlotse Urban Council Town Clerk Mr. Ts;abela Tlali says his office is in the process of completing financial statements to soon manage the waste around Hlotse town.he highlighted during Heads of Departments meeting held at District Administrator;s premises Hlotse in Leribe on Wednesday. Mr. Tlali said between this week and next week the cleaning of town will resume. He indicated that money has been allocated for such and they are rendered permission to draw fuel for transportation.
Mr. Tefo said his office is already holding meetings with Environmental officials on overcoming the roaming of dumping sites all over the town.
He said the dumping sites are a risk to the people as some collect food from them hence they be addressed in time.
Mr. Tefo also said they are in the process of meeting the business community to help regulate waste around their premises.Speaking at the same meeting, District Administrator Leribe Mr. Letsema Khalanyane said it is high time they address the waste management issue to the business community so they regulate the waste usually found in front of their shops.
Referring to health, he said the dumping site located near Mohokare river is a risk as some waste is pushed into the river thus posing danger to people who draw water from there.
He indicated that the business community has to also take part in regulating the waste.
