The Minister of Finance says to further strengthen their response to the pressing challenges posed by climate change the government in collaboration with United Nations Development Fund (UNCDF) will continue to implement the local climate adaptive living initiative.

This Dr. Retselisitsoe Matlanyane stated during the budget presentation on Wednesday where he said the initiatives are designed to enable councils to effectively adapt to the impacts and challenges of climate change.

She said in Thaba Tseka focus will be Tenesolo Community council. In Mokhotlong she said they will be focusing on Seate, Maseru in Makhoalipane and Kubake while in Mafeteng they will going to Metsi maholo.

In Mohales Hoek, she said they will be Khoelenya, Lithipeng, Choosing and Senqunyane communities councils.She said disasters occur more frequently with escalating severity to the nation in recent times.He said these disasters threaten any social and economic gain that societies may have gained leaving families to grapple with loss and uncertainty.The budget speech  was presented at the joint sitting in he National Assembly on Wednesday.
