The government of Lesotho and SAPMIL will hold a seminar for The Lesotho Security Sector Reform SSR early this November whose target audience consists of LDF, LMPS, NSS and LCS.

According to the committee of the sector the seminar is purposed to develop a uniform understanding of SSR processes amongst all stakeholders of the security division in the country, with intent to back the government of Lesotho.

Owing to the national  peace that  vision 2020 advocates for,  the conduct of the seminar will contribute towards deepened democracy, good governance ,security and stability  attributes anticipated to create an ideal climate for  security and national development.

The committee says dialogue within the seminar is intended to identify key concerns around confidence and trust building measures, an inclusive process, apolitical security sector, clarification of mandate for security sector and civilian oversight.

Presentations will be conducted by outsourced experts and will entail participation of retired security agency officers, civil society, chiefs DCEO and private security services among other representatives.
