The Lesotho Red Cross Society in collaboration with the District Health Management Team are conducting a training on saving lives and livelihoods for Village Health Workers .
This was stated in an interview with the Agency by the LRCS Senior Branch Development Officer Miss Refiloe Ramokebe on Thursday. According to Miss Ramokebe, the aim is to equip the VHW with relevant information so that they are able to encourage communities to take life cause immunisation. She also articulated that the focus is on everyone not leaving out pregnant mothers, lactating mothers, elderly and the young one.
She said the training planned for three days, a day in each facility, will take place in three facilities which studies have indicated immunisation rate remains a challenge. Those are St. Theresa, Khohlontso and Sehonghong health facilities and the training she indicated began on July 31 at Khohlontso and is expected to end on August 01. She further highlighted that Lesotho Red Cross Society is part of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Southern Africa implementing Saving Lives and Livelihoods Project
