As the world marks World Immunization Week 2026, World Vision has stepped up efforts to expand access to life-saving vaccines, particularly targeting zero-dose and under-immunised children across Lesotho.
In a statement, World Vision Lesotho indicated that through its Health and Nutrition Integrated Programme, the organisation is working to ensure that no child is left behind while also promoting uptake of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine among adolescent girls.
World Vision noted that the initiative aligns with this year’s theme, which is “For Every Generation, Vaccines Work,” highlighting the importance of immunisation across all age groups.
World Vision reported that it has so far supported 22 health facilities and conducted 35 outreach activities in communities under Menoaneng, Senqu, Mpharane, Phamong and Rothe Area Development Programmes.
Additionally, under a UNICEF-funded project, the organisation will support 14 health facilities during the commemorative week to further improve vaccine coverage and strengthen community health outcomes.
