EU donates $12.5m to support the National Constitutional Reforms process in Lesotho.

The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Lesotho Dr Christian Manahl, says they have set aside an amount of $12.5m, to support the implementation of the national constitutional reforms process in Lesotho.

Dr Manahl expressed this in Maseru yesterday, where he said he has been following the political developments in Lesotho, and issues relating to the government particularly developments concerning the reforms process.

He said recently reforms process in Lesotho made a slower start as was expected, but in the last three months it has picked up the pace, and a number of things have happened, which include the national leaders forum held on Wednesday this week, and the national dialogue planning committee forum held in August this year.

He said the national dialogue planning committee has been rocking in the last couple of weeks, and has presented the program for the first plenary of the national multi-stakeholders dialogue on Wednesday this week, which will take place later this month.


He said this has been one of his focus following these developments that are interesting to various people, and they are also supporting the dialogue, as there are some funding they have already provided and are being managed by the Ministry of Finance.
