The Lesotho Comprehensive National Constitutional Reforms Committee, made up of members of the ruling and the opposition parties in the Parliament of Lesotho, met in Maseru yesterday to report on the progress they have made, in preparing for a mass public gathering, which is will be on the 26th to the 28th November 2018.

On behalf of the committee Mr Chaka Ntsane, said the program of the gathering which they presented to the leaders of the country has been completed, and that it includes the advice and the guidance the leaders gave them during their meeting with them.

Mr Ntsane further said besides the five main points which it was agreed that they need to be reformed, they included two other points which are the economy and media.

He said they made this decision as they realized that even if sectors which include the parliament, judiciary and security sector are reformed, the country will not achieve the stability it wants, as long as it is still faced with the ailing economy and the disadvantaged media.

Mr Ntsane also pointed out that they have completed a list of invitees to that gathering.

He said the duty of selecting the representatives from all the relevant stakeholders in social issues was not easy, but they managed to compile the acceptable list.

He said they compiled this list looking at the conditions of the places they are planning to use, and also giving themselves enough opportunity to listen and accept opinions of members of the public.
