LMPS GRADUATES NEW POLICE RECRUITS IN MASERU.
LMPS graduates new police recruits in Maseru.

The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) held a graduation ceremony, for the two hundred and fifty one new police recruits in Maseru yesterday.

Speaking at the event the LMPS commander Commissioner Holomo Molibeli, said police needs adequate training for operating guns, in order to effectively protect the nation and its property against armed criminals.

He said they realized that six months are not enough for the training of the police, and that is why the new recruits were trained for nine months.

In his speech Commissioner Molibeli also said the new recruits, will go for another training starting from December this year until February next year.

The Minister of Police and Public Safety Honorable ‘Mampho Mokhele, said the new police recruits are trained to protect the lives and the property of Basotho, and that they will achieve this only if they stay away from criminals.

The Right Honorable Prime Minister Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane, said with the vigorous training the news recruits were exposed to, they are expected to serve the nation and must always remember that they are public servants.
