The Ministry of Education and Training announced the release of the 2018 final results, of the Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE), at the ministry’s headquarters in Maseru yesterday.

When announcing the results the Minister of Education and Training Professor Ntoi Rapapa, said the results will be released today at 8 o’clock in the morning, and that amongst the 14 225 students who set for the examination, 540 students obtained distinctions.

He explained that in the 2018 LGCSE final results students performed better than in 2017, as there has been an increase in the number of students who scored higher symbols from “A*” to “D”  except for symbol “C”, in which there has been a slight decrease in the number of students who scored it.

Professor Rapapa also pointed out that from symbol “E” to symbol “U” except for symbol “G”, students performed better in 2018, as there has been a decrease in the number of students who scored those lower symbols compared to in 2017.

In terms of the districts performance, Mafeteng appears on the first position with 74.3%, while Quthing is on the last position with 63.1%.
