The Ministry of Education and Training has awarded gifts and certificates to the top ten 2018 Junior Certificates and Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) students in Hlotse Leribe last weekend.

In an interview with the media, the officer in the ministry Mrs. ‘Malehloenya Nkhasi, said they are excited to see that disabled children are also among the top students, and that they are aware of good work they are doing as the ministry.

She further said in the department of disabilities there is a boy whose feet were cut by the tractor some years ago, and said the boy completed grade 12 with good grades.

Mrs. Nkhasi indicated that there is another student who had hearing and language disabilities but surprised many by passing Sesotho, where most students with such disabilities fail since it is not easy to interpreted Sesotho with sign language.

Nkhasi concluded by passing her remarks to the teachers that helped students with commitment, as well as parents and said some parents are ashamed of their disabled children.
