The Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) marked a successful completion of two projects of the Development of comprehensive mechanism for managing rules of origin, and a design of trade tariff quarter management and monitoring system, pursuit under the European Union (EU), and Southern African Development Community (SADC) Trade Related Facility (TRF) on Wednesday 25th September 2019.

Speaking during the event, the SADC TRF project coordinator Mr Ramolise Rantsane said TRF is a program designed by the SADC secretary general, with inputs from the SADC member states in order to drive regional integration and economic development.

In his statement Rantsane said this program is implemented throughout twelve SADC member states, excluding Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Angola and South Africa.

He explained that South Africa has special trading relationship with EU, while the other three countries have not signed the economic partnership agreement, though it is still open for them.

He further said the TRF program is financed by the EU, throughout the twelve SADC member states to the tune of 36 million Euros.
