The Australian Alumni Association of Lesotho (AAAL), launched the installation of electricity at Koali Primary School in Berea.

The AAAL Spokesperson Mrs Mpot’seng Pama Letsoela, said their association is made up of former Basotho students, who had an opportunity to study in Australia sponsored by the Government of Australia for food, residence and tuition fees.

She said as former Basotho students in Australia, they decided to come together to help Basotho, who have not had the same opportunity as them.

In her statement she said they started this association in 2015, and later registered it legally, and now has more than thirty members.

Letsoela explained that they are financially supported by the Government of Australia to help needy schools, and they chose Koali Primary School for its good performance.

On behalf of the school Mrs ‘Makhami Cecilia Khooanyana, thanked AAAL for the installation of electricity in their school.

She said Koali Primary School was built in 1957, and now has about 929 students.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training Honorable ‘Maphoka Motoboli, said her ministry is happy with the effort made by AAAL at Koali Primary.

She said this came at a time when the ministry has just introduced the Education for all policy, which affords every child opportunity to education regardless of their status.

Motoboli further pointed out that the installation of electricity will help students use computers and tabled available in their school.
