NEW ZEALAND MP’S ON OFFICIAL VISIT IN LESOTHO.
New Zealand MP’s on official visit in Lesotho.

Three members of New Zealand Parliament are on a two days official visit in Lesotho, starting from yesterday until today.

The members are Nicky Berry of New Zealand National Party, Clayton Mitchell of New Zealand First Party, and Anahilla Kangach of Labour Party of New Zealand.

According to the report during their visit, the members will pay courtesy call to the Prime Minister Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Registrar of the National Senate.

The main purpose of their visit is to discuss issues relating to the Mixed Member Proportional Representation elections strategy, with the concerned authorities in Lesotho.

Report further indicates that the members will visit the Parliament of Lesotho, and discuss with members of parliament, issues relating to the formation of coalition governments, floor crossing in parliament, and the reforming of the laws of the Parliament of Lesotho.


Lesotho is the first African country, to implement the Mixed Member Proportional Representation elections strategy, and it adopted it from New Zealand.
