Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship will coordinate a two day National Urban Forum (NUF) in Maseru from Wednesday 30th October 2019 to Thursday 31st October 2019.

In a statement the ministry says the event which is supported jointly by the World Bank and UN Habitat, serves as an arena for interaction amongst the policy-makers, local government leaders, non-governmental organizations, and expert practitioners in the field of urban development and human settlements.

The statement further indicates the forum is aiming at advancing Lesotho’s human settlements and urban development agenda, as well as realizing Sustainable Development Goals, especially goal eleven quoted as “Make Cities Inclusive Safe, resilient and Sustainable.”

According to the statement the objective will be achieved by promoting the understanding participation, coordination, engagement and debates towards sustainable urbanization strategies, policies and programmes.
