Minister of Energy and Meteorology Professor Ntoi Rapapa, announced that there has been robbery and stealing of property in some offices in the management block of the Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) headquarters in Maseru.

In a statement in Maseru on Monday the 20th January 2020, Professor Rapapa indicated that this incident was first spotted on the same day in the morning, by people who clean the robbed offices as they arrive before other people.

He said people who clean the offices reported the matter to the managing director, who in turn reported to the police, who also rushed to the place to check the offices.

Rapapa reported that the stolen property include eight laptops, three cell phones and three files.

In his remarks, he called on all LEC employees and members of the public to provide all the relevant information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.

He said the robbed offices include Human Resources office, Internal Audit office, and the economic planner office, and that the police have resumed investigations into the matter.
