A total of 282 people many of whom are Lesotho nationals including one foreigner from South Africa, are reported to have crossed to Lesotho through different illegal border posts since May the 1st to date.

The National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) reports that of these people, 214 of them crossed through Quthing, and they are men and children with many being women.

NECC said these people have all been screened against coronavirus, and none of them portrayed signs of the virus, and they are also in fourteen days quarantine in different hotels in the Quthing district.

Senior Inspector Moeketsi Mokotjo of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) in Quthing, said the Government of Lesotho has on several occasions appealed to those who come to Lesotho through illegal border posts, to get tested and avoid contaminating the entire country.
