MINISTER OF HEALTH SPEAKS ON THE RISING COVID-19 CASES IN LERIBE
Minister Of Health Speaks on the Rising Covid-19 cases in Leribe
22 June 2021 | 11:39

The honorable minister of Health Semano Sekatle says Leribe People love their freedom more than they love their lives. This was discovered by the ministry of health after a study was conducted due to the rising number of covid-19 cases in Leribe District

Sekatle indicated that the Covid- 19 Situation worsened at the primary and high schools in Leribe, the ministry learnt that this is because teachers have made it a habit to go to schools late hence they cannot inspect and supervise students and as a result the students fail to adhere to the covid-19 protocols.

Sekatle articulated that the covid-19 infections were first discovered at Khethisa High School on the 8th June and later spread to other schools and even at villages. 114 covid-19 infections were reported at Khethisa High School, 70 in Molapo High School, 37 in the villages and 2 deaths were reported.

He further said his ministry has been working tirelessly to fight the situation in Leribe and therefore the ministry of health has joined hands with the ministry of Education and the ministry of Local Government to fight the pandemic in Lesotho because Leribe is not the only place affected by Covid-19.

Sekatle further narrated that the ministry of health will be preacautios by putting in place the laws that will direct students on how best they can behave and adhere to all the necessary precautions in the fight against covid-19.
