Basotho Action party BAP women`s league is perturbed by a significant rise in femicide and violence against women.

In the report dated 23 July 2021 BAP women`s league articulated that the femicide are also accompanied by sexual abuse. It says during the month of July alone many reports of femicide were reported.

They indicated that the criminals behind the killings of women deserve to be locked away. They appealed to the culprits to stop immediately these cruel deeds and show some respect to womanhood.

They stated that it is a disgrace that out of 196 nations Globally Lesotho sits at number 6 in countries that practice femicide.

Furthermore they appealed to the honorable Prime minister and his government to equip police officials with tools they need and also to strengthen the security forces with skills they acquire in order to bear fruitful results.
