The Right Honorable Prime Minister Honorable Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane and Minister of Mining Honorable Keketso Sello, had a meeting with Gem Diamonds company in London Britain yesterday, where Dr Thabane announced the Lesotho Government’s decision to renew Gem Diamond’s lease for the next ten years.

Speking at the meeting Dr Thabane said the government’s decision to renew Gem Diamonds Mine’s contract, indicates that Lesotho Government is willing to promote investment in the mining sector.

He assured Gem Diamonds investors that they will be safe in Lesotho, with regard to corruption which is mostly feared by many investors.

Minister of Mining Honorable Keketso Sello said his ministry is working tirelessly, to ensure that mining sector becomes the greatest investment attraction in Lesotho, since it is one of key economic muscles in Lesotho.

At the meeting Gem Diamonds emphacised that it will continue to invest back to the community, by offering sponsorship to Basotho in mining related courses, and help in other community developments.
