The Minister of Finance Dr Moeketsi Majoro said the tax collection at the borders of Southern African countries, is continuing to decline therefore Lesotho has to find other means of renewing its economy.

This he said yesterday at a press briefing in Maseru yesterday, where he stated that the government inherited the declining economy in June 2017, therefore it is still declining even when the government has opted for other different means of strengthening it.

He pointed out that the government is using different strategies in the budget estimations, therefore the results will be visible only if there is growth and creation in new businesses.

He further said the collected money is not enough to cover the costs of the government in the 2018/19 budget.
