AFRICAN UNION NUTRITION CHAMPION KING LETSIE III VISITS GAMBIA

King Letsie the third arrived in Gambia on Monday on  a 2 day visit as the African Union Nutrition Champion in an effort to promote food security and proper nutrition within the continent,following a  call on to Lesotho by the African Development Bank delegate, to support the king who has pledged to back ,mobilize and engage with African Heads of State and Finance Ministers to rally behind the African Leaders for Nutrition initiative, in the upcoming African Union Summit in January 2019.


During a joint visit of  the African Development  Bank Director of Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development, Oley Dibba-Wadda and African Union Commission Head of Health Nutrition and Population, Department of Social Affairs, Margaret  Agama-Anyetei to Lesotho Dibba-Wadda stressed that their joint efforts with the African Union Nutrition Champion, His Majesty King Letsie, reinforce efforts within the African Development Bank through the African Leaders for Nutrition initiative, to advance nutrition in Africa and to build and protect  Africa’s grey matter infrastructure.

One of the king ‘s delegates to Gambia The  former minister of Agriculture and food security honorable Mahala Molapo articulated the king ‘s visit as an  endeavour  to adhere to the first millennium development goal ,which is  to  eradicate extreme poverty and hunger within the least developed countries

Africa is said to have spent about 4 billion dollars, in a bid to combat diseases caused by undernourishment.
