3 judges sought by the government of Lesotho are expected to arrive in the country next month, to oversee the proceedings of the cases of government officials'and the army's .
According to Advocate Ponts'o Phafoli the acting high court registrar, the credentials of two judges are in the hands of the Judicial Service Commission. She added that the qualifications have been sent to His Majesty for validation ,1 is yet to reach Lesotho and the trio shall be appointed thereafter .
Advocate Phafoli says their names and that of their countries of origin, shall be announced after their engagement and the judges shall abide in Lesotho for 24 months
This appears to be a just response to a request made by the Mahao family to the government of Lesotho, to adopt external judges to conduct the hearing of thier kindred 's case Lieutenant General Maaparankoe Mahao, who was murdered along Koro -Koro road on his way to Maseru from Mokema his home in June 2015 , his death shocked the world and the former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon issued a statement to condemn the murder of the Lieutenant General demanding a full investigation.of his death.
The SADC set up a special commission of inquiry, led by High Court Judge of Botswana Mphaphi Phumaphi whose proceedings divulged general Mahao's murderers;
meanwhile his family is suing the former prime-minister of Lesotho Dr.Pakalitha Mosisisli and former army commander lieutenant general Tlali Kamoli for his murder.
