LESOTHO PRIME MINISTER ATTENDS THE 73RD UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SUMMIT IN NEW YORK.
Lesotho Prime Minister attends the 73rd UN General Assembly summit in New York.

The Public Relations Officer in the Prime Minister`s Office Mr Thabo Thakalekoala, said the Right Honourable Prime Minister Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane and his delegation, went to New York City in the United States of America(USA) on official visit on Friday 21 September 2018.

The Prime Minister will be among the 193 Heads of States and Governments of the United Nations member states which will be attending the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly that commenced on the 17th September 2018.

In his report Mr Thakalekoala stated that like other heads of states and governments, the Prime Minister of Lesotho Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane will address the assembly on Friday the 28th September 2018.

However Her Majesty Queen Masenate Mohato Bereng Seiso, is also expected to be in New York on Saturday the 29th September 2018, to partake on the biggest function namely YOUTH 2030 as part of the annual activities of the function of the United Nations (UN).

Her Majesty is invited by the United Nations International Childrens’ Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to represent Lesotho on this occasion.

The purpose of YOUTH 2030 is to unite all sectors of United Nations, private sector and young people to discuss issues that specifically affect them, and to find means and strategies to be used to ensure that every young person will be in school and or working or self employed by 2030.

Moreover, the First Lady of  the Kingdom of Lesotho Mrs ‘Maesiah Thabane will also participate in the important functions in New York, as part of the United Nations  Annual General Assembly.

Mr Thabo Thakalekoala further indicated that both this meetings, will pay attention on the issues of women leaders in politics and other issues that affect the nations.

The Right Honourable Prime Minister Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane and his delegation, will be back in the country on the 1st October 2018.
