The Spokesperson in the Prime Minister’s Office Mr Thabo Thakalekoala, says the Prime Minister of Lesotho Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane has participated in eleven meetings, since he arrived in New York in the United States of America on the 21st September 2018, at the 73rd Annual Summit of United Nations (UN) member states.

Mr Thakalekoala said the meetings were closely related to the theme of this year’s UN annual summit, as in those meetings issues relating to the empowerment of economic status of UN member states and spread of diseases were discussed.

He further said Dr Thabane made speech in all those meetings, and also conducted other  meetings which are not related to the UN Summit, in which he was negotiating the second face of financial support and diplomatic relations from other countries on behalf of Lesotho.

Mr Thakalekoala also explained that the main purpose of the visit of Dr Thabane in New York will be today, as he will be speaking before the UN member states at the summit.

He said Dr Thabane will present the way forward for Lesotho, in issues including Lesotho’s progress in constitutional reforms and measures for peace and stability.
