Semana Bee Keeping Farm (SBKF) as one of the renowned entrepreneurs from the remote areas of Berea district has encouraged people to consider the bee keeping project for job creation and other economic and social benefits.

Semana Bee Keeping Farm made the remarks barely a week after participating in the nineth Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Industrialization week in Durban, South Africa which convened on July 27 to 31 where it was among the regional entrepreneurs where it showcased its products.

When reflecting on their journey, SBKF Human Resource and Administration Officer Mr. Rets’elisitsoe Kherehla said the SADC Industrialization week summit has demonstrated a greater demand of honey products, particularly from Lesotho for the fact that it is highly elevated and it produces a quality needed for the market.

Mr. Kherehla said pointed out that through the engagement they had with potential clients, there is a light of hope for business development and as a result, they call upon local farmers who want to start or those who are already in bee keeping projects to double their efforts in production, then unite so that they can be in a position to supply and meet the market demand.

He indicated that the SADC Industrialization week did not create a space for networking, but the platform itself has opened their eyes in various sector of business development more especially when it comes to production and value chain.

Mr. Kherehla stressed that the platform also serves as a pathway for regional trade, hence they call upon local business people to unite and capitalize on such opportunities and grow together.
