Small business owners in Teyateyaneng have raised concerns over increasing cases of break-ins targeting businesses in towns and villages.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency, small business owner Mr. Lephephelo Leokaoke, whose business is based at Ha-Motjoka, said break-ins has become a serious concern, with hardly three weeks passing without a reported incident. He said the problem was particularly common in townships and villages, including Ha- Mohapinyane, Ha-Ntjabane and Ha-Motjoka.Mr. Leokaoke said break-ins have a significant impact on small businesses, especially those that are still growing, adding that established businesses were also being targeted. He said commonly stolen items include popcorn machines, money and other goods found in shops, depending on the type of business.

Mr. Leokaoke said business owners wanted to work closely with law enforcement authorities to help identify and apprehend people responsible for breaking into and damaging their businesses.
