Following years of despair for Litenteng Community in Ha-Tsunyane Roma after the access bridge collapsed in December 2020 due to heavy rains, the construction of the said bridge is expected to start soon.
Manonyane Community Council Chairperson Mr. Makhaola Chele who earlier had stated that the Council does not have enough money for the construction of the bridge has now told the Agency that they have been allocated money therefore the construction is expected to start soonest next week.
He explained that the labourers will work for 25 days on a rotational monthly basis and earn M120 per day.He added that they have decided to engage the locals as part of creating employment while at the same time ensuring that they (locals) take ownership of the entire project.
Meanwhile Litenteng Bridge collapsed in December 2020 due to heavy rains and the villagers made a temporary structure while awaiting the government to construct the access bridge.
