M25.7 Million Power Boost: Government Transforms 750 Lives in Thaba-Ts’oeu

Mohale's Hoek March 10 _ The Minister of Energy Mohlomi Moleko has pleaded with the contractor awarded a tender to connect electricity to households at Thaba-Ts'oeu, Nkoboto to never bring along labor from anywhere, but rather make use of local one.

Mr. Moleko noted this when addressing villagers from communities to soon benefit from the Rural Electrification Project, before proceeding to Mekaling to carry out a similar activity, by also pleading with those who have been entrusted with powers to pay contractors to do so timeously, adding the honorable Prime Minister despises delayed payments of contractors who have rendered services to the Government.

The member of Parliament for Mpharane No;60 Nku Mohlalisi expressed his gratitude to the government, noting community members have been awaiting this type of development for the past twenty years, while the Counsellor for Mashaleng Community Council Thabo Ntsane echoed the same sentiments, adding that the government has really changed their lives.

On behalf of community members 'Makababelo Rakubutu sang the government's praises by noting that even those who were not registered into the schemes will also benefit, adding the most important thing is that their money will be refunded.

The project is expected to benefit about 9 villages in Mpharane Constituency and the government is reported by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Tankiso Phapano to have used 25,7 Million to connect 750 households, whereby one family has been allocated M34,000.00, and the project is expected to be completed on March, 16, 2027.

The Minister previously carried out a similar activity in Bulu-Bulu where the project estimated at M 106,000000.00, is expected to benefit 242 households.
