Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso will lead the International Day of Forests at Sekhonyana Primary School in Mt. Moorosi in Quthing district on the 21st March 2019.
Queen ‘Masenate is the advocate of children’s rights in World Vision Lesotho, and the International Day of Forests will be celebrated under the Mokotjomela Environment Conservation Programme.
World Vision Lesotho says the purpose of the event is to educate the nation, children and stakeholders in the protection of environment, about the importance of keeping the environment safe, so that they make wise decisions about controlling climate change and its consequences, based on the Sustainable Development Goals.
World Vision also says the purpose of the event is to give children an opportunity to plant trees, and that each tree that will planted will represent every child who will grow to be a mature citizen of Lesotho whom the country will be proud of.
