Vodacom Lesotho has opened an opportunity for up to 60 small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase and sell their products and
services as part of the company's 30-year anniversary celebrations to
be held in Maseru club grounds on 19th September.
In an interview with the Agency on Tuesday, Manager of Public
Relations and Corporate Communications at Vodacom, Mr. Lebohang
Chefa said the initiative is aimed at giving Basotho businesses greater
visibility, access to customers and opportunities to grow.
Mr Chefa Mentioned that SMEs have been part of its 30-year Journey
as customers, partners and contributors to local livelihoods, making
their inclusion in the celebration a reflection of the company's purpose
of connecting for a better future.
He maintained that for businesses interested in participating is free,
saying this is intended to remove financial barriers and allow more
Basotho entrepreneurs to take part.
Mr. Chefa said selected businesses will receive free stalls to showcase
and sell their products and services, reach new customers and
strengthen their market visibility.
He mentioned that vodacom Lesotho has reserved up to 60 stalls for
participating SMEs. he said that the initiative is expected to provide
participating businesses with an opportunity to interact directly with
customers while promoting locally owned enterprises.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ts'epang Mpanya, The Founder of Scented
Manufacturing said the initiatives like this provides a platform for small
businesses to showcase their products and network.
She indicated that to her it is not just about sales but a stepping stone
because one will never know when and where to meet their
breakthrough.
Ms. Mapanya said vodacom is more often thinking about SMEs and she
really appreciates their initiative.She urged her fellow business people
to not overlook opportunities like this one.
Another entrepreneur Ms. Mats'eliso Hloma who produces beaded
products said that she is very excited and is willing to be part of events
like this one because it is where they are getting exposure.
She said that Basotho really supports entertainment events and this is
where they get their customers and in most cases some of her sales
comes from the clients who saw them on events like this one.
Vodacom Lesotho is inviting business to participate by selling food and
soft drinks, providing children's games, showcasing their products and
engaging with the public about their services they offer.
