Lesotho celebrated international radio day in Maseru. In this occasion, The general secretary of UNESCO Miss Palesa Monts’i made a speech on behalf of the director of UNESCO, saying that the radio is significant ,since it disseminates the messages to the Masses as well as uniting the community.
Monts’i further stated that radio is a source of information and knowledge.
This celebration was officiated by The Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs Dr ‘Matumelu Sekatle on behalf of the Minister of Science, Technology and Communication.
Sekatle encouraged the people to continue using radio saying the radio is the community because a radio can not survive without the people.
Sekatle also appealed to the radio stations to do their job properly.
