Maseru ___ In commemoration of the Stymo Foundation Lesotho's founder's birthday, the foundation yesterday donated school shoes and apparel to vulnerable students, at The Lord’s Primary School in Ha-Foso Berea.
Ms. Limakatso Lebenya, the foundation's general secretary explained that the donation was made in response to identified needs among the student body, further articulating the foundation's belief in education as a cornerstone of development, noting that school uniforms can serve as a source of motivation for students.
A representative teacher, speaking on behalf of the school's faculty, acknowledged the challenges presented by student vulnerability, stating that educators are often the first to witness these hardships. The teacher expressed confidence that the donation would have a positive impact on the students.
In the meantime, the students also received instruction regarding disability-related topics, encompassing various types of disabilities and appropriate interpersonal approaches, when interacting with individuals with disabilities.
Stymo Foundation Lesotho was legally registered in Lesotho in 2021 with its mission dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups in Lesotho, particularly children, youth, people with disabilities and the homeless. Their work focuses on areas such as: Providing essential resources like school uniforms, shoes, apparels and more to those in need, also promoting education and empowerment as well as addressing issues related to disability and inclusion.
