As Lesotho prepares to host the 64th Council Meeting of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO), excitement is building among young creatives who see the accompanying digital roadshow as a gateway to growth and global exposure.
In the interview with Lesotho News Agency, local artist Ms Neo Qhali said the initiative comes at a crucial time when many young Basotho artists are seeking ways to expand their reach beyond traditional platforms.
Ms. Qhali highlighted that the digital roadshow will provide much-needed knowledge on how to effectively use online platforms to market and distribute creative work.
For a long time, many artists in Lesotho have relied on physical events and word of mouth. This digital roadshow is an opportunity for us to learn how to position ourselves in the global digital space,' she said. She noted that access to digital tools and skills can help artists connect with international audiences, collaborate across borders and generate sustainable income through online channels.
According to Ms. Qhali, the exposure to industry experts and technology-driven solutions during the roadshow will also empower young creatives to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital economy. She further encouraged fellow young artists to take full advantage of the sessions and networking opportunities that will be offered during the event.
The CTO digital roadshow is expected to bring together policymakers, innovators, and creatives, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration that could significantly boost Lesotho’s creative and technology sectors. For many young Basotho artists such as Ms. Qhali, the event represents more than just discussions but a stepping stone toward a more connected and digitally empowered future.
